The winery is the other half of the building. The combination of château, winery and vineyard has been the fundamental requirement to establish a Château brand in France for a very long time.Welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. It is also noteworthy that only grapes sourced from the property can be used under the château label where it is bottled on site and so claimed.

‘Mis en bouteille au château’ is the term the French people look for on the label for authentification.

The château needed some repair and this was largely disclosed at settlement. But of course to take it to a level of comfort and homeliness has had Marion pretty busy with local contractors.

Those renovations were completed in 2019 to also allow for short term rental accomodation.

The winery and barrel storage have had significant make overs. The vats are robust concrete structures with ample capacity for wine making. For the 2018 vintage a number of the vats were reconditioned and stainless steel replaced corroded fittings. The experience from 2018 brought forward further investment. It is very difficult to manage temperature of the fermentations and cope with the expected full volume quota of harvest. A complete temperature control system and several more vats were refurbished in 2019.

Work also commenced late in 2019 to improve storage capacity for barrels and bottles in the chai (barrel storage barn).
